Elsewhere, Feng Yi Ying (Alice Zheng) mother, now a successful businessman, pressured her husband, Chung Hao (Tang Guo-Zhang), for a child, which she mercilessly rejected. Ying reveals that he already has a son, Feng, and that he may be Chung Hao's son, so they begin the process of taking Feng back for themselves, which Rong Guang refuses to allow. Chung Hao demanded a DNA test but before that could happen, Rong Guang broke down and was taken to the hospital, forcing him to make some difficult decisions for Feng's welfare.

The Third Wish marks the last film of veteran comics actor Zhuo Sheng Li (Stroman), who died shortly before the film's theatrical release.
